Beware of cheap “hearing amplifiers” from online shops — they can damage your hearing!

They are ordinary sound amplifiers that can permanently damage your hearing. You will not find such devices here.

A hearing aid may only be prescribed by a specialist physician after a professional examination, which we carry out here. We prescribe only certified hearing aids from leading manufacturers in Denmark, Switzerland and Germany (Oticon, GN ReSound, Phonak).

How a hearing aid is prescribed

  1. ENT examination

We discuss your difficulties and examine your ears in detail.

  2. Audiometry

In a soundproof booth we measure how you hear and, where needed, add special tests.

  3. Choosing a hearing aid

We recommend a suitable type according to the type and degree of your hearing loss, your age, lifestyle and wishes. You can try a hearing aid with no obligation.

  4. Ear impression

If needed, we take an impression of your ear canal so that the hearing aid or earmould is made precisely to measure.

  5. Handover and fitting

We program the hearing aid by computer precisely for your hearing loss.

  6. Training

We show you how to put the hearing aid in, operate it, charge it or change the battery, and how to look after it.

  7. Check-ups and service

After a few weeks of wearing we fine-tune the hearing aid based on your experience, and again later as needed. Thanks to the manufacturers' branches in the Czech Republic we also arrange technical service.

  8. Health insurance cover

We take care of everything for you, including all the paperwork with your health insurer.

Shapes and sizes of hearing aids

Overview of hearing aid sizes and types, from the smallest to behind-the-ear models
A CIC hearing aid in the hand and in the ear — hidden in the ear canal

CIC

The CIC (Completely-in-the-Canal) style is the smallest solution, hidden in the ear canal. It is discreet and often called invisible. It is miniaturised as far as the anatomy of your ear allows and sits very deep in the ear. It is usually intended for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. Because of its small size it has no manual controls, such as volume wheels or programme buttons, and cannot be connected to a mobile phone.

An ITC hearing aid in the hand and in the ear

ITC

The ITC style is only slightly larger than CIC but already offers some connectivity. It is almost hidden — apart from the removal string — and is the choice for patients who want excellent technology in a small package. Thanks to its slightly larger size it also covers greater hearing loss. Manual control is not possible because of the size, so the hearing aid works only in fully automatic mode.

An ITE hearing aid in the hand and in the ear

ITE

The ITE style is the best in-the-ear solution in terms of sound quality, features and size. These hearing aids are still small, in the ear, flush with the ear canal. They are comfortable to put in, easy to use and suitable for greater hearing loss too. Their size allows extra features, such as directional microphones for better understanding in noisy places, giving unrivalled clarity of sound compared with smaller hearing aids, as well as volume control and listening programmes. They can also connect to a mobile phone and be controlled from it very conveniently.

A Full Concha hearing aid in the hand and in the ear

Full Concha

The Full Concha style is a large hearing aid that practically fills the whole ear canal, which makes it powerful enough even for very severe hearing loss. It is easy to operate and has the same options as its smaller ITE version, with the difference that it can be rechargeable — which is not possible with the smaller hearing aids above because of the size of the rechargeable batteries.

A RITE hearing aid in the hand and behind the ear — almost invisible

RITE

The RITE style is currently the best overall choice of all types. RITE devices are a beautiful combination of form and function. The elegant shell with the microphone sits discreetly, practically invisibly, behind the ear and is separate from the receiver to eliminate feedback. They are wonderfully comfortable, extremely light and have an “open fit” design that makes them barely noticeable when worn. Thanks to their construction they offer the most natural sound, all premium features, directional microphones, control options, automatic mode and programmes. Full connection to a mobile phone is standard.

A BTE hearing aid in the hand and behind the ear

BTE

The BTE style offers everything RITE hearing aids do, except that it is a little larger and an individual earmould, made to measure from an impression of your ear, leads into the ear. This lets it deliver the most power without sacrificing elegance. BTE is easy to use, the easiest of all hearing aids to clean, and easy to handle and wear. It copes with any hearing loss — even the most severe — and can meet the needs of almost every patient. It can be battery-powered or rechargeable.
