Overview of hearing aid sizes and types, from the smallest to behind-the-ear models

We have been helping people hear better since 1991.

We offer comprehensive services in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss — from hearing tests through individual selection and fitting of a hearing aid to follow-up care. We work with hearing aids from quality manufacturers in Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.

A professional and individual approach to every client is a matter of course for us.

I can hear, but I don't understand. I have trouble talking with people or following the television.

We only realise how important hearing is to our lives once we lose it. Yet hearing loss limits a person almost as much as impaired vision. Being unable to communicate with loved ones is highly limiting and, especially in older people, can lead to withdrawal into their own world, avoidance of human contact and faster ageing of the brain and the whole body. According to a 2024 report by an expert commission published in the renowned medical journal The Lancet, untreated hearing loss is one of the largest modifiable risk factors for dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease. Magnetic resonance imaging also shows that people with hearing loss lose brain volume faster.

The 5 most common signs of hearing loss

  1. You turn the television or radio up louder than others find comfortable.
  2. You often ask people to repeat what they said.
  3. You struggle to understand in a restaurant, at a party or in other noisy places.
  4. You find it harder to understand on the telephone.
  5. You feel that people around you mumble or speak unclearly.

If you recognise yourself in at least one of these, book a hearing examination.

Hearing aids are an excellent solution and can help you return to a full life.

A discreet hearing aid behind the ear, almost invisible A small in-the-ear hearing aid hidden in the ear

Invisible hearing aids

The hearing aids we prescribe are high-quality, discreet and so small that nobody will see them: in-the-ear models are made to measure from an impression of your ear canal, and RITE hearing aids hide behind the ear. We will determine the type of your hearing loss and recommend a suitable hearing aid.

We offer all available types of hearing aids — from practically invisible in-the-ear models to behind-the-ear hearing aids for the most severe hearing loss.
